Support Ticket Inquiry: Missing OpenSSL Libraries on Unix/Linux

Inquiry:

Client is trying to register their license and this is what pxpreg -v is showing for them:

"Web Serial 123456, 2 users, V19, UnRegistered, Exp: 2026-11-15"

Why online registration fails:

- OS: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.8, OpenSSL 3.5

- PxPlus 17.00 reports: "Unable to connect securely to the key server. Could not locate entry point 'SSL_load_error_strings' in libssl library."

- The non-secure retry then fails with "Unable to establish network connection and obtain key."

- The server could reach the internet at the time (http://www.pvxplus.com answered on http and https).

Resolution:

The issue is that pxplus is not able to connect to the internet.
